If you like all that you’ve seen from The House Kat and feel that we would be a great fit, please submit necessary information on the new client portal for review and you will hear back promptly. Click the Green "Create New Account" button.

Step 2: Account Approval

Please allow time for a review of your information. The information provided will determine if your account will be approved. If your account is approved we will proceed to step 3. Step 3: Meet & Greet

Once your account has been approved, you may request to book a meet and greet. At the meet & greet, we will go over routines, feeding instructions, location of needed supplies, home access, and emergency preparedness.

Step 4: Schedule Services

Welcome to the pack! After completing a successful in-home meet and greet, you will receive the go ahead to book services on the Time to Pet client portal.

Booking & Cancellation Policies

Pets (like humans) are most comfortable in their own homes. If you have a dog walker or go away on a business trip or vacation, it's important to make sure your absence is as stress-free for your animal as possible. Making sure your pets are in a familiar environment, with a stable food and exercise routine, is a safe and healthy way to allay their fears. Book your pet sitter or dog walker as much in advance as possible. The House Kat books out 2-3 months in advance.

Once The House Kat has completed a meet & greet with you and your pets, the next step is to document agreements, and obtain all necessary information before submitting your first booking request.

FAQs

FAQs

Q: Why should I book The House Kat?

A: The House Kat is a certified professional pet sitter with over 30 years of responsibly and dependably caring for pets, people, and homes. The House Kat will always be gentle and make your animals' safety a priority.

Q: What is enrichment?

A: Directly from the ASPCA website: enrichment refers to activities that allow dogs to engage in their innate behaviors, such as playing, chasing, smelling, chewing and scavenging. By allowing your dog to engage in these behaviors, you allow them to be physically, emotionally, and mentally satisfied. Dogs who don’t receive stimulation tend to find ways to enrich themselves, resulting in unwanted behaviors.

Q: What kind of animals do you care for?

A: As long as The House Kat has written instructions and the owner feels comfortable after the meet & greet, Kat will take care of any critter from geckos to horses to include animals of all sizes and breeds! Dogs, cats, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, birds, horses, donkeys, alpacas, cattle, pigs, lizards, turtles, fish, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs and more!

Q: How many visits do I need?

A: For dogs with access to a doggy door, 2 visits per day is suggested. Those without access usually do okay with 3. For those with special needs or puppies under 1 year, overnight stays along with 2 drop-ins midday visits are suggested. Most cats and caged animals are fairly self sufficient but The House Kat requires one visit per day. This is to ensure the safety and security of both your pet(s) and your home.

Q: Are you licensed and insured?

A: Yes, The House Kat Pet Sitting LLC is registered with the state of Nebraska and insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associates..

Q: Do you have references?

A: Yes! I am more than happy to provide you with references.

You can also read the reviews pet parents have left here.

Q: How soon in advance should I book services?

A: To ensure availability please book services as soon as you are aware you need them. The House Kat books up for overnights 2-3 months in advance.

Q: When is payment due? Is a deposit required?

A: An invoice is presented once a request is approved. Payment is due upon completion of services. A 100% deposit is required for all overnight stays and extended vacation drop ins (over 5 days) and is due at the time of booking.

Q: Do you care for elderly or special needs pets?

A: Provided the animal does not need constant care, and written instructions are given, Kat will take on any beloved pet and administer medications or medical treatments as instructed. Kat is a former CNA and is certified in pet CPR/first-aid. This includes shy/timid/fearful/reactive animals who need a little extra love and patience.

Q: I Have A Neighbor/Friend/Family/Etc Who Can Stay With My Pets At Night. Can You Just Do Daytime Care?

A: To ensure continuity in routine and care provided, I do not job share with neighbors, friends, family members, or other pet sitters. Insurance and liability is null and void if this is not followed and I take the safety and well-being of your pets very seriously.

Q: Do you charge extra for multiple pets?

A: No. Drop-in visit options start at 20 minutes in duration, however, if a visit goes beyond the scheduled duration for care, additional charges will apply. Same with overnights (9p-6a).
