A: I started The House Kat four years ago, but my experience caring for pets, people, and homes goes back over 30 years. I’ve worked as an administrative assistant, house cleaner, pet caregiver, house sitter, nursing assistant, and respite care provider—so reliability, attention to detail, and compassionate care are second nature to me. Your pet’s safety and well-being are always my top priority.

I also volunteer with the Nebraska Humane Society and Lost Pets of Omaha Area, helping lost and less fortunate pets in our community. When you book with me, you're not just supporting a small business—you’re also supporting efforts to reunite lost pets and care for those in need.

I use Time to Pet for scheduling, communication, pet details, invoices, and documents, keeping everything organized in one place. Visits are GPS and time-tracked, and after each one, you’ll get a report with a message, photos, videos, and updates on feeding, watering, walks, and more.

Q: The House Kat provides cat sitting, dog walking, and travel sitting services to include overnights. We also offer add-on services such as light grooming (no cutting), pet cam, lockout, and pet taxi services. See a full list of our services and pricing here:

A: Booking is based upon availability and by appointment only. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. The office is closed on weekends and federal holidays. The House Kat's office line is (402) 522-6778 or email: kat@thehousekatpetsitting.com. During office hours, Kat will respond to calls and emails as soon as possible. If it is after office hours, please expect a delay in response time unless your pet is under current care by The House Kat.

A: The House Kat Pet Sitting is bonded and insured with Business Insurers of the Carolinas. The House Kat Pet Sitting is an LLC company registered with the IRS and the State of Nebraska.

A: Directly from the ASPCA website: enrichment refers to activities that allow dogs to engage in their innate behaviors, such as playing, chasing, smelling, chewing and scavenging. By allowing your dog to engage in these behaviors, you allow them to be physically, emotionally, and mentally satisfied. Dogs who don’t receive stimulation tend to find ways to enrich themselves, resulting in unwanted behaviors.
